Dubai Free Parking will be available to all motorists starting March 19 as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) implements major service revisions for the Eid Al Fitr holiday. The city-wide initiative aims to streamline traffic flow and provide seamless mobility for residents and visitors celebrating across the emirate.
Official Dates for Dubai Free Parking and Metro Updates
The RTA has confirmed that public parking will be free of charge from March 19 to March 21 (the first three days of Eid). This waiver applies to all public zones except for multi-storey parking facilities. Normal tariff structures will resume on the fourth day of Eid, currently scheduled for March 22.
To accommodate the expected surge in holiday commuters, the RTA is also extending operational hours for rail and marine services:
- Dubai Metro (Red & Green Lines): Running from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. (March 18–21) and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on March 22.
- Dubai Tram: Operating from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. (March 18–21) and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on March 22.
- Customer Happiness Centers: Most locations will close for the duration, though the Umm Ramool and Smart Centers will remain open 24/7.
Intercity Bus and Service Center Adjustments
Travelers heading to Abu Dhabi should note that Route E100 will be suspended from Al Ghubaiba starting the afternoon of March 18 until March 22. However, Route E101 (Ibn Battuta to Abu Dhabi) and Route E102 (Al Jafiliya to Musaffah) will remain operational to maintain inter-emirate connectivity.
Vehicle testing and registration centers will remain closed from March 19 to March 21, with regular operations resuming on Sunday, March 22. For real-time updates and personalized journey planning, the RTA recommends using the official S’hail app or visiting the RTA web portal.
These strategic adjustments to Dubai Free Parking and public transport are designed to ensure the city remains accessible during one of the year’s busiest festive periods.
