Special Eid Trains are officially hitting the tracks as Pakistan Railways announces four additional services to manage the massive passenger surge ahead of the holiday season. The move is designed to facilitate thousands of citizens returning to their hometowns for the festivities, ensuring a smoother journey across the country’s main railway arteries.

Complete Schedule for Special Eid Trains 2026

To accommodate the high volume of commuters, the railway administration has finalized a strategic rollout starting from March 16. These services will connect major hubs including Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar.

According to the official Pakistan Railways spokesperson, the deployment will follow this specific timeline:

  • Train 1 (March 16): Departs Lahore for Karachi, making key stops at Okara, Sahiwal, and Khanewal.
  • Train 2 (March 17): Departs Quetta for Rawalpindi, passing through Sukkur, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal, and Lahore.
  • Train 3 (March 17): A dedicated service running from Karachi to Peshawar to assist northern-bound travelers.
  • Train 4 (March 18): A final additional service departing Karachi for Lahore to ease the pressure on the main line.

Facilitating Nationwide Eid Travel 2026

The introduction of these Special Eid Trains is a recurring strategic response to the extreme pressure placed on regular commercial services during religious holidays. By adding thousands of extra seats, the department aims to curb over-crowding and minimize the exploitation of passengers by private transport operators.

Travelers are advised to use the official e-ticketing portal or the mobile app to secure their seats in advance, as high demand is expected to sell out these additional berths within hours of opening.
